  • Will Kindle Ignite a Catalytic Reaction?

By: David Evans on November 19th, 2007

Jeff Bezos is supposed to unveil the Kindle today–a WiFi-connected e-book that will supposedly download your daily WSJ and NYTimes, make blogs and other content available for a free, make it easy to download books, including the NYTimes bestseller list, onto the device, along with other cool things. Others are working on similar devices.

As Karen Webster and I describe below a killer device for reading newspapers is what’s needed ultimately to save that industry. The devil is in the details for whether Kindle will ignite a catalytic reaction in the distribution of books and other content that people haven’t liked reading on their computer screens. We’ll know more today and looking forward to your reactions.
